The village of Stow-cum-Quy is located on the B1102 road to Anglesey Abbey and Burwell, five miles east of Cambridge from the A1303 Newmarket Road. The village is just off J35 of the A14 and within easy reach of the A11 and M11 too.

There are regular trains to Cambridge and Cambridge North national railway stations from London. Buses operated by Stagecoach run from Cambridge through the village on routes to Newmarket (11), Ely (12) and Bury St Edmunds (X11). National cycle routes 51 to Bottisham and 11 to Lode also pass through the village, providing easy and safe sustainable access to Cambridge and the surrounding villages.
